Pump It Up: Episode 1:

The King and I

“Here ye, here ye! All who dwell in the domain of Lord Jamal Usurper King. Today is the day of the prestigious Basket Brawl Tournament! Noeth blood noeth foul, deux un deux via the half court, maketh yee taketh yee, these are the rules of thy game. All who dare enter sign thy waiver and enter thy arena!”

These were the words the referee said unto the crowd

A cruel game none other than the King could have imagined

To winner goeth the spoils but the vanquished doomed to a life of labor in the prisons

Any man who dare enter this challenge surely had nothing left to lose

They’d be a fool to think the King honor his word

Such were the words I said to myself as I signed my name on the dotted line

I was one of these men yes but the riches were not my goal

I had my sights on another prize

The spectators gathered around the Blackest Top as the cage lowered

The top coiled with razor wire, through its chain links weapons dangled

The cage was to make sure no man left until a victor was crowned

Many matches had now gone by and they were brutal as expected

There was no skill to be had amongst the most of them

Just hooligans with ample size

Crushing their opponents with injuries as to win by default

My turn was next now and I was against one of these very men

The Tooth they called him

His name given by the very thing he took from his opponents

Though dangerous

He was just like all the other vagrants who entered this tournament

All brawn and no brain

It was a hard fought match, one in which I nearly lost my head

But my skills proved true

This same pattern of victory was repeated until at last

I was the last baller left

My final opponent, the King himself

My heart sank to the depths of my soul fore I knew victory was impossible

I had only one chance

A great power of the tongue I possessed

But this sword of jest had to be used with expertise

Fore the wrong stroke meant my head

The King and I dueled and he won as expected

I chastised him, challenging his title as false

I dared the King to remove his Jumpman sneakers, the source of his ability

“The only reason I taste defeat is because of your Jumpmans fore without I’d school thee!”

Hush rushed over the crowd fore no one had ever criticized the King as such

Their eyes transfixed on him now to see his response

Shit! He ordered his guards to apprehend me and at once I knew my plan had failed

That is when I lost all control of my filter

My tongue swung to and fro desperately until I hit a nerve

I had insulted the only thing sacred in his profane existence

His mother

The King slowly slipped out of his sneakers and advanced towards center line

With a flick of his wrist he ordered my captures to release me

With a wave of the finger he motioned for me to come

I obeyed

Now twas the King and I

Standing head to pelvis

The King forcefully checks me the ball

I had no more use for my tongue

Ability now would be my only saving grace

Unfortunately I had not enough to win this dual even with the King desoled

So I did what any man in my position would do

I cheated

I kicked the King as hard as I could right in his Lordship’s jewels

Followed with a basketball to his face

I scrambled to the Jumpmans

The guards doeth their best to stop me but to no avail

All it took was one single hop

I soared over thy cage

Off a street lamp

Through thy atmosphere

 Nothing but freedom

Pump It Up: Episode 0

Strength, Courage, and Wisdom

Months had passed now since the conquest of Sandal isle.

Pesa stared intensely at the blue disc

Running her fingers along its smooth surface

Examining every nook and cranny with her eyes

This was her father’s last gift to her before his capture

Pressing a button on the top

A cylinder of light shoots upward from the device

Then spreads itself into a fan shaped ray

Inside the ray of light

Professor Nickel Loafer

The world’s leading scientist

Also her father, reveals secret information

To the location of knowledge that can save the Isle

Gripping the soft, sneaker soles from her bag

She slaps them to her feet

Ribbon like fibers begin to sprout from the sole

Entrapping Pesa’s feet until

The soles have transformed themselves into futuristic sneakers

Now blessed with super human ability

She darts past the enemies who now terrorize the land

Defying gravity she walks the side of a mountain

And with a mighty kick, smashes rock to dust

Inside lies her prize

Activating the holo disc

She learns of the secrets her father was captured for

Walking home she knows she must make a choice

She wants to do the right thing but it’s impossible

Why would her father leave it up to her?

The pleas of a young mother bring her back to reality

It wasn’t enough the vandals took over the island

Now the sector cops relished in bullying the people they conquered

One mother, one child, surrounded by five sector cops

The market place is full of onlookers

They outnumber the sector cops

They could make a difference

Instead they choose to watch as the harassment continues

“Stop!”

A voice shouts for justice from the crowd

Pesa is surprised to find the source of the protester

Her very own tongue

The sector cops now find a new toy to play with

They mass around Pesa and order her to leave

Pesa folds her arms

A flash of anger shoots through her psyche

Giving her the courage to defy the orders of her oppressors

A sector cop grabs her shoulders

With a heave he pushes her

Still Pesa refuses to move

All his buddies join in now

Five men vs one girl

One girl equipped with gravity defying sneakers that is

With each push they make

The polyaimer grip on her soles clings the earth harder

The event soon becomes a spectacle

The people who were once afraid

Now laugh in the face of their oppressors

The laughter quickly turns to confidence

That confidence then to rage

The sector cops retreat in fear

Pesa is celebrated as a hero

Her nonviolent protest was the example they needed

To inspire their hearts with revolution

The same energy was transpired into Pesa

She knew now what she must do

Her father wouldn’t rot in a cell a day longer

She would make sure of that

10.22.12 And All Seemed Concluded

The young Lion stomped into his den

Shaking his mane and roaring his aggressions

The tale of his roar was heard for miles

Of the two Hyenas Alpha and Beta

That attacked him minutes before

Gathering his troops

Teeh, claws, and all manner of blade sharpened

They marched to battle

Hyena Alpha attacked the Isis Cat prompting the war

Both sides growled menacingly but no blood was spilled

The Jackals watched from yonder and yipped with glee

Eager to confess to the Blue Pigs arriving with iron chariots

The Blue Pigs captured  Hyena Beta

The felines returned back to their den

And all seemed concluded

That is until two buffalo came to answer the young Lion’s plea

The biggest buffalo of the two walked into the den of the hyenna

To acquire knowledge of the previous altercation was his intent

Hyena Alpha attacked the Nubian Buffalo

And the eyes of the Blue Pigs stood witness

The Blue Pigs captured both Hyena Alpha and Nubian Buffalo

And all seemed concluded

Until in the hour of the moon

The Shark, the Isis Cat, and the Pilot Fish

All were caught by the wrath of the Bulldog

And exiled from the land

The Coyote ever the deviant

Opened his bag of tricks, in it a key

In which he used to unlock the heavens

They slept on the 4th till 7

And all seemed concluded

But then the sun rose…

To Find the Rabbit Hole

Turning to and fro I could not sleep

Tiny bugs crawled over me

Physically taunting my body

Vocies in the distance

Stimulated my mind back to awareness

I listened silently

Eagerly lapping up what info I could over the loud noises of the tv

Alas I couldn’t lie still any longer

I walked over and joined their circle

This was to be an exhibition of the minds

The first introductory test to see where we stood

I suppose I impressed my mu3alims

They took me to the common room

And revealed to me uncommon knowledge

Another test passed and I was invited to take a walk

A walk I will never forget

While we treed through the darkness

Morsels of truth were fed to me

Though tasty there was a deep fear

For even the sweetest candy can cause cavities

If not eaten properly

I returned from my walk feeling a new being

This was the first step into a school

My life time I waited to enroll

A school of ancient mysteries

Which were stolen from me centuries ago

But now I reclaim

Reset to Original Setting

If there was a reset button for my brain

I would it hit

A wave of amnesia would wash over my memories

Erasing the pain caused by this westernized hypnotism

A chance to start over new

In a far away land

Far not in  geographical setting but in mindset and culture

So as to grow without all the weighted baggage

Of the preconceived stereotypical missiles which I’ve been taught

To aim at myself

Equipped with an internal self destruct button

My makers sabotaged me well

I often wonder

How different a man would I have been in my dream scape

And then I remember

Reality is what you make it

So I inhale the smoke

…And wait

Until I drift away….

Forever

Oh yeaaah

I once fought with patience and passion

To fill a shallow world with deeper understanding

Time passed and I realized there was no great enlightenment

Only childish egos too busy judging the houses of others

While their own began to crumble

I once fought without desire of compensation

But when I saw others begin to acquire profit

My eyes became jaded

I once fought purely out of love

But my love was taken advantage of by deceit of servitude

And my heart sank under the weight of betrayal

Too weary to continue

I closed my eyes and slept

I awoke and returned to the battlefield but I could not fight

My eyes were too glossy to see the future

My passion disintegrated to ash

And I had no heart to care either way

It was only then that I remembered

I hate this place

I want to see it burn

So busy fulfilling other people’s agendas I forgot my very own

That’s What I Always Say

Like clockwork it’s that time again.

The deep depression gets comfy in my head like an unwanted house guest

You wanna tell it to leave, you just don’t know how

That’s what I always say

It’s during this cycle that I find myself questioning hating everything

Deeper into myself I retreat until I become lost

I’ve done this countless times before

I thought this time would be different

That’s what I always say

I’m running out of places to run

Feels like this is my last stretch of land before I run off the cliff entirely

If only I could express it somehow

That’s what I always say

Tongue and brain both paralyzed beyond stupidity

I’m truly beginning to realize what I am is what I’ll always most likely be

Alone, angry, and confused. A prisoner unto myself

When all else fails nonexistence surely seems the way to go

That’s what I always say

If only I could stop saying the things I always say and say the things my brain wishes to convey

Much to my dismay

That’s what I always say
